InterfaceFlor is a company which is dedicated to make carpets. It tries to be as ecologic as possible.
We took a tour guided by Gloria. In it she gave us information about the production process and the biomimicry aspects involved in it.
The company is truly commited with protecting the environment:
It has its own team of experts devoted to finding more ecological ways of producing carpets.
The most interesting part of the process was the link to biomimicry: Instead of using glue the experts have developed a new technique based on the feet of an animal. This animal has little hooks than enable him to walk in different surfaces.
I enjoied this example since it is a practical aplication of biomimicry in an industrial process.
