My participation in the research project Witnessed Presence was very stimulating. I was asked to write about my work, why I use glass and the influence that a material can have on how humans witness each other. For me it meant time for reflection. It is always valuable to place one's own work in a totally different context. To formulate and write about my core incitement, call it focal point, is something that will remain a useful resource in my own current research on Optical Phenomena as Architectonic Elements. I like the structure of the website very much; how it connects different articles, not randomly but by our own chosen set of keywords.
I hope this work will stimulate more artistic research programs in the Netherlands.
