To be asked to contribute to the Being Here project has been a very rewarding experience for me personally. The question or theme of ‘intimate strangers’, was an interesting starting point to reflect upon my work, and how I deal with and also how my work deals with the idea of the other, ‘the stranger’. It asked me to question how I create intimacy and the importance of intimacy as a tool, both with audience but also with people who I interact with on a daily level. One of the most interesting elements of the whole Being Here project is the cross referencing of articles from other contributors out of different fields. Like a Pandora's box when opened, it creates a network of contextually rich connections that exposes how similar themes run surprisingly through different disciplines.
