Botanical garden

Again, nature as proven it's intelligence.

The visit to the botanical garden really putted things in perspective. I’ve been an inhabitant of Delft for more than 4.5 years, and I actually never visited this garden. The first thing that came in to mind was: “ wow, it would be great to put a desk in here and study”
The visit showed the rich heritage Holland actually has in the field of studying nature. So much knowledge about plants and trees has been gained and stored, truly amazing.
One of the things that inspired me a lot was the experiment with the mangrove trees.
I really liked the idea of a natural barrier against floods and tsunami’s using these kind of trees. A typical example of a win win situation. People are safer with a natural barrier and the mangrove trees also stimulate a biological rich environment!
