3. WHAT INTERACTION?

Identity
Data-Veil is an interface for the self and the other to permeate each other.
The Data-veil offers a technical interface to satisfy an emotional desire: not only to project the self, but also to fuse in a network of an endless expanding, rhyzomatic system of others’ identities.

Intuitive Body interface.
The Data-Veils’ front is covered with touch sensors. The sensors are soft, flexible conductive threads, invisibly woven into the smart fabric of the veil, part of the textile. The pattern is woven into ‘touch zones’.
When the hand touches two threads at the same time, the skins’ humidity connects the circuit – connecting wirelessly to the TELE_TRUST database.

The touch zones in the Data-Veil are tracable but not controllable for the user. They invite one to navigate - not to ‘find buttons’ but to ‘search the body'.
The touch zones are differently placed on each individual body, due to different body shapes. And since the body moving make the textile move, the touch zones move too… The user keeps on searching, shifting the hands slowly bit by bit over the body. However, once reached a touch zone, there is immediate feedback – which invites to keep on searching the intimate body – for others.

A social networked self.
The sensors are sensitive touch zones. They offer a natural sensation of ‘touching the own soft warm body’. When touching they transform the body into a playful, intuitive, tangible interface, to connect with other peoples’ voices and statements. The sensored interactive skin is a membrane, for a social networked self.
