The piece has started

From the moment the piece has started, the musicians are engrossed in their sound.

If I want to go along with the musical story, I sometimes close my eyes.
The composition then sounds pure and near.
There are no distractions from the hustle and bustle of the musicians.
I am very careful, worried about showing anything outwardly. After all there are people I don’t know all around me, and nothing is as humiliating as an angry look or an agitated comment.

As soon as the applause has dyed away, the musicians disappear into the dressing rooms >
