Music is often used to create atmosphere. It colors our surroundings, often plays in the background during movies, in stores and restaurants.

During a conversation in a restaurant I am often distracted by the music.
I am temporarily unable to perceive the music as a wallpaper.
Is it due to my professional ears?
Is there too much information inside the music, suddenly reminding me of something?
